If the user is on the lift at the hinge point, then the lift can safety override in the upwards direction only, to prevent the user from being trapped. To use this function, which only works on the hinge activation point, simply hold the toggle in the up direction. After approximately 15 seconds the lift will travel to the top of the stairs to allow the user to get off the lift safely.
